Everything has changed

EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED in our R&D project that is.

It’s still called AtmosCube but it is no longer an exhibition, nor focusing on art, nor is it going for diffent themes. So what is left? Adventure ist left and people coming together to experiance something different, something that has never been there before. Atmos-cube is an adventure music festival centred around exploration and bringing atmospheric experiences to the masses. Using the tools issued to them individuals will have to find the location of this exclusive music event through the use of geocaching, to discover the mystery hidden within.

This is how it works: You’ll be able to order a small cube online wich will be your ticket or key to this event. There will be six major events happening around the uk. When the event, the AtmosCube, is in a region near you, the small cube will activate! This is where the chase beginns. Using your smartphone and the small cube you will have to find 6 locations that will be generated by random to your specfic location. The faster you find them the more points you will get. Each found location will light up a side of your cube untill all six sides are activated. You will now be notified where the exact location of the AtmosCube is.

Everyone who finds the AtmosCube will gain access individually. You walk in to a dark room. Lights on the floor go on one by one. pow pow pow pow. They create a path on the floor to guide you to the middle. A plinth rises from the ground. You place your cube on it. Suddenly the room isn’t dark anymore but an epic lightshow is happening all around you. It ends as suddenly as it has started. The room turns white. A siri like voice starts talking. The voice welcomes you, congratulates you on your score. Next to your cube a badge apeard as a symbol of taking part in the quest.

But that is not all. There’ll be an after party/rave event happening in the evening for all the participants. Time to celebrate the end of the journey make new friends and just have a great time!

Nick Cage Art

Whilst doing research for my R&D project I came across the artist Nick Cave (not the musician). His work isn’t relevant to any of the projects I’m working on but just too good to not mention it. And who knows, one day my discovery might be useful.

Nick Cave is an artist, educator and foremost a messenger, working between the visual and performing arts through a wide range of mediums including sculpture, installation, video, sound and performance. He says of himself “I have found my middle and now am working toward what I am leaving behind.” Cave is well known for his Soundsuits, sculptural forms based on the scale of his body. Soundsuits camouflage the body, masking and creating a second skin that conceals race, gender, and class, forcing the viewer to look without judgment.

His work reminds me a lot of the “Triadisches Ballett” by Oskar Schlemmer.
